Cozy Cooking Series: Parmesan Sausage and Gnocchi

Cozy Cooking Series 1/??

To start off, I do promise you I won’t be writing up a full on essay on the back story of the recipes. Most of them, I’ll flat out admit, are variations of ones that I saw on a cooking show or found on Pinterest and I adapted for my needs, preferences, or just learning new ways to cook. Most of the needs are due to laziness, or energy limitations. Likely a mix of both.

This is NOT a healthy recipe by any measure, and it’s cozy and easy to make and pairs really well with either a glass of wine or a cup of tea. Either way, a rainy evening is absolutely required for this dish. I also recommend a soup bowl or mug. It just feels right.

You can switch out the meat to any meat you’d like, and you can switch out the sauce to any sauce that you would like as well. I’m not huge on using a meat sauce with a meat that you’re already adding, though this is only my opinion. This is definitely a weeknight meal because it’s so quick to make and you have minimal hands on time beyond cooking the meat and making sure it doesn’t get burned. Unless you like it that way. You do you, and again, only my opinion. I’m not here to judge (for the most part).

Let’s get to it!

  • prep time: 5 Minutes
  • cook time: 25 Minutes
  • total time: 30 Minutes
    Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 package of Gnocchi
  • 1 pound Italian Sausage (or any meat)
  • 1 jar of sauce Roasted Garlic Parmesan Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper as preferred

Instructions:

  1. Heat a wide skillet over medium heat. Once ready, add sausage (or meat of choice) and cook until done. Take a paper towel and clear any oil from the bottom of the skillet.
  2. Add uncooked gnocchi and jarred sauce directly into the pan itself. Fill half of jar with water and shake to incorporate any excess sauce into the water itself. Pour into the skillet too and stir to combine. Be careful! It's probably gonna splash if you're not careful.
  3. Once sauce starts to bubble, lower temperature and cover with a lid. Allow to cook for 10 minutes in simmering sauce.
  4. Serve once gnocchi is fork tender. Enjoy!
